Three things move the price. Hours on the day: a ceremony and reception is one price, a full day from preparation to the last dance another. Deliverables: a highlight film is standard, a full length documentary edit, raw footage and social media cuts each add editing days. Crew and kit: a second shooter, a drone and a sound recordist for speeches are separate lines, and drone work depends on where the venue sits.
How to choose a videographer in Malta
Watch three full films, not a showreel, and ask who will be operating the camera on your date. There is no licence for videography, but drone flying is regulated: the operator must be registered with Transport Malta's Civil Aviation Directorate under the EU drone rules, carry third party insurance, and many Malta locations, including much of Valletta and the areas around the airport and the harbours, are restricted or need permission. A videographer who says "we always fly" without mentioning permissions is a warning sign.
For commercial work, agree the scope in writing: number of shoot days, locations, number of edited versions and their lengths, rounds of revisions, music licensing and who owns the raw footage. Music is the usual surprise, a licensed track for a commercial video costs money and a popular song may not be licensable at all.
