How to choose a marine engineer in Malta
Ask what the engineer specialises in, and ask for the work in writing with parts itemised. Boats mix several trades: engines, electrics, hydraulics, gelcoat and rigging, and a good engineer says which they do and which they refer out. Ask about experience with your engine brand, whether they hold manufacturer training, and whether they can source parts locally or import them, which changes the timeline by weeks.
